We're seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team! You'll assist our 3 doctors with vaccinations, x-rays, bloodwork, medication prep, surgery, ultrasounds and various other medical care on cats and dogs. We strive to create a positive, comfortable environment for our patients and you'll be expected to provide the same, with a professional, efficient and courteous attitude. We are a locally owned, fast-paced hospital that sees approximately 75 appointments per day with 6-8 surgeries per week. Job Responsibilities Assist Veterinarians and Technicians with all patient care. Restrain patients for exams and treatments. Including irritable/angry/fearful cats and dogs where required. Prepare vaccinations and medications Nail trims, ear cleanings, gland expressions and wound treatments. Blood draws and Radiography Maintain medical records. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital, including cleaning up after animals. Requirements for employment in this position : Compassion for animals. Positive and outgoing personality Excellent communication skills. Strong people skills. Organized and able to multi-task. High School Diploma/GED. Ability to bend, stoop, squat and stand for extended periods of time as well as lift up to 45lbs. Available to work every other Saturday. Experience with Avimark (preferred)
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
