The Opportunity:

LVVS is seeking a diligent and compassionate Overnight Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our team in a full-time capacity. This is a crucial role responsible for the continuous comfort and care of our hospitalized and boarding patients during quiet hours.

Schedule & Hours:

This is a Full-Time position (30 hours per week) consisting of three 10-hour shifts from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM , Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide attentive care for hospitalized patients, including monitoring, comfort checks, and administering treatments as directed. Ensure the well-being and security of boarding patients (feeding, walking, and sanitation). Handle limited incoming phone calls, providing basic information and directing all urgent medical inquiries to the closest 24-hour emergency facility. Maintain hospital cleanliness through routine cleaning and organization tasks. Accurately document all patient observations and treatments in our medical records system.

Qualifications:

Prior veterinary experience is preferred (Vet Assistant, Technician, or similar clinical role). Proven ability to work independently and reliably during overnight hours. Exceptional compassion and a gentle approach towards animals. Strong observational skills and attention to detail. Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Excellent communication skills for morning medical hand-offs and professional phone handling, specifically in triaging calls to emergency facilities.

What We Offer:

Competitive Compensation:

$18.00 - $21.00 per hour.

Note:

This rate includes a $3.00/hour shift differential for all overnight hours. Base rates (little/no veterinary experience) are $15.00 - $18.00/hr. Candidates with advanced credentials or significant independent hospital experience will be offered a higher rate commensurate with their skills. A supportive and collaborative team environment.
