Duties Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures, ensuring proper restraint and safety protocols are followed. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately according to veterinary instructions. Handle animals of various species, including dogs, cats, and equines, demonstrating proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques. Perform laboratory tasks such as sample collection, processing, and basic diagnostics to support clinical decisions. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts, and document procedures with precision. Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing client communications, and processing payments. Ensure cleanliness and aseptic techniques are upheld in treatment areas to prevent infection and promote optimal animal health. Experience Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background is highly valued. Demonstrated veterinary technician or assistant experience within a clinical setting. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices. Experience with animal restraint techniques and medication administration across different species. Familiarity with laboratory procedures and veterinary critical care practices is a plus. Hands-on experience with animal catheterization, laboratory testing, and aseptic techniques enhances your ability to excel in this role. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and compassionate interaction with pet owners.
