Job Description

Cherry Valley Veterinary Hospital is growing! With an experienced new doctor joining our team, we are expanding our services to include Saturday and Sunday urgent care hours and are looking for a versatile Veterinary Assistant/Client Service Representative to grow with us. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and wants to expand their Veterinary Assistant skills while gaining experience in client service. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to utilize their skills across urgent care, outpatient care, patient handling, diagnostics, treatment support, and client communication. Our ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, and able to remain calm and organized while supporting a variety of urgent and same-day patient needs. As our team and services continue to grow, this position offers the opportunity to play an important role in building and supporting our new weekend urgent care program while growing and developing your VA skills. In this position, you will take an active role in: Assisting the team during exams, treatments, and procedures Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces Schedule and compensation:
Compensation:
$22 - 25 per hour for each hour worked, plus a $2 per hour weekend differential for hours worked Saturday and Sunday. This is a part-time or full-time position, with 10-hour shifts and availability needed Saturday and Sunday. Full-time Benefits Package•: Bonus package: Up to $500 depending on experience Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k with company match Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount Uniform allowance Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum qualifications and skill set: 2+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, or related role Proficiency in the following skills: Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service About us: Cherry Valley is a two and a half-doctor general practice with natural light in every room and an open and functional treatment area.
