Job Description

Veterinary Assistant Desert Veterinary Clinic is a busy, growing 5-doctor practice seeking a full-time or part time Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate and dedicated team. If you're passionate about animals, love working in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy being part of a supportive team, we'd love to meet you! Responsibilities Assist doctors by gathering patient history during exams Filling medications (once med clerks license is obtained) Prep patients for surgery Draw blood and place IV catheters Run lab samples in house and prep lab samples for transfer to lab Restraint of animals for procedures including exams, blood draws, and injections Provide support for DVMs and techs throughout various clinical procedures Flex and cover in reception when needed Handle animals safely and compassionately during examinations, treatments, and procedures Communicate effectively with clients to relay information about animal care and answer basic questions Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by cleaning kennels, treatment areas, equipment, and supplies Skills Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques Knowledge of animal behavior to ensure safe interactions Experience working in a veterinary clinic environment is preferred Strong communication skills for effective client interaction Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently and thoroughly Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in animal welfare Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced setting Join our team as a Veterinary Assistant if you are passionate about animals, eager to learn, and committed to providing excellent care in a professional environment.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
