Job Description
About us We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate team in East Vancouver . We are a privately-owned , AHAA
- accredited , small-animal veterinary practice committed to providing high-quality, personalized care to our patients and their families.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and other procedures
- Perform animal restraint adequately
- Handle and care for animals with compassion and professionalism
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Conduct laboratory tests and prepare samples for testing
- Assist with animal catheterization when required
- Monitor patients after surgeries/dentals when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary facility
Qualifications:
- Experience in a veterinary or medical setting is preferred, but will train the right person
- Preferred knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate well with others to find solutions
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine
- Strong animal care skills and understanding of animal behavior
- Experience in animal catheterization is a plus
- Familiarity with pet monitoring practices
- Ability to manage kennel duties efficiently Compensation includes paid holidays, medical benefits, retirement contribution and animal care discounts.
