Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will make a tangible difference in the lives of animals and their owners. In this vital role, you will support veterinary professionals by providing compassionate animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for pets and clients alike, fostering trust and promoting animal welfare at every step. Duties Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments by restraining animals and preparing necessary equipment Handle a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and equines, ensuring safe and gentle animal handling and restraint techniques Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, grooming, and maintaining a clean clinic environment using proper PPE protocols Support laboratory procedures including sample collection, specimen processing, and basic testing to aid in diagnostics Administer medications, IV fluids, and injections following aseptic techniques while monitoring animal responses Maintain accurate record keeping of treatments, procedures, medication administration, and patient histories in compliance with clinic standards Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs to ensure excellent client service Experience Prior kennel experience or veterinary technician experience is highly valued for this role Experience with animal handling across different species such as dogs, cats, and horses is preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior enhances your ability to provide quality care Hands-on experience with surgical assistance, medication administration, catheterization, IV insertion, and aseptic techniques is advantageous Familiarity with front desk duties including client communication and appointment scheduling is a plus Previous veterinary clinic or laboratory experience will help you excel in record keeping and technical tasks required in this role Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to animal health and welfare! $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
