Veterinary Technician - Birmingham Animal Hospital + Resort Birmingham Animal Hospital + Resort is looking for an experienced, compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our medical team! We are a privately owned, full-service veterinary hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, focused on providing exceptional medicine while creating a positive, Fear Free experience for our patients, clients, and team.
What You'll Do:
Assist doctors with appointments, treatments, and procedures Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters Run in-house laboratory testing, including CBCs and chemistry panels Obtain and assist with diagnostic radiographs Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients Assist with anesthesia, surgery, and dental procedures Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Maintain accurate medical records and treatment sheets Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area Work closely with doctors, technicians, assistants, and reception to keep patient care running smoothly
Who We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, confident in their technical skills, and genuinely enjoys being part of a team. You should be able to stay calm in a busy environment, communicate well, take initiative, and always put patient care first. Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is strongly preferred. Licensed Veterinary Technicians are encouraged to apply, but licensure is not required for the position.
