Job Description
Job Summary Starting salary dependent on degree and experience. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to provide high-quality support in a veterinary setting. This role involves working closely with veterinarians to ensure the health and well-being of animals, assisting with various procedures, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners. Langston Animal Hospital has expanded to a new large facility. Our diagnostic equipment includes a new CT, digital radiography, multiple ultrasounds, endoscopy, and advanced surgical suites. We work as a team to provide exceptional care to our patients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed. Maintain accurate medical records for each animal. Provide care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, bathing, and exercising. Educate pet owners on proper pet care and health maintenance. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas and examination rooms. Requirements Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology. Experience in animal care or handling, particularly with dogs and other pets. Familiarity with animal husbandry practices. Ability to perform laboratory tasks related to veterinary medicine. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members. A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners. Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
