Job Overview We are looking for experienced, sharp, compassionate and dedicated animal lovers for a few ACT positions open in Glendale. We are a family owned and operated chain of pet stores called Puppies 'N Love and Animal Kingdom — with five locations in the Valley and Tucson. The perfect candidate is detail oriented, makes wise decisions, responds quickly and calmly in difficult situations and has excellent communications skills. This important position works with a team of animal care technicians to deliver exemplary care to our puppies and demonstrates a commitment to outstanding customer service. If you are outgoing, self-motivated and honest we may have a long-term home for you on our team. If you are a new veterinary technician or working towards becoming one, this is a great opportunity to gain education, insight and hands-on practice in a veterinary environment. The position requires direct handling of puppies and dogs including: Following company protocols to administer vaccines and other medical treatments to puppies while keeping copious medical records. The ability to recognize if/when a puppy might be showing signs of illness or distress. Informing manager(s) of any health issues with the animals A commitment to continuous education and training. Cleaning and maintaining kennels and animal living areas daily. Cleaning other facility areas. (Sweep, take out garbage, wash floors, etc.) Washing food and water bowls and making sure all sterilization protocols are followed. Providing each animal with food and water following approved feeding protocols. Following proper safety measures and procedures when using medicines, chemicals and cleaning supplies. Assisting other employees and customers in a cheerful and respectful manner. Helping maintain a clean and organized workplace. Responsible for all other duties as assigned by Animal Health Director.
