In person Veterinary Technician - Experienced Applicants Only RVTs Encouraged to Apply We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENT
Applicants must be proficient in placing IV catheters in both dogs and cats and must be comfortable and experienced with blood draws, including feline blood draws . Please apply only if you are confident performing these skills independently in a clinical setting. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures. Independently and proficiently place IV catheters in dogs and cats. Perform blood draws, including feline venipuncture. Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures. Monitor hospitalized, surgical, and recovering patients. Administer medications, vaccines, fluids, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Perform routine laboratory testing and assist with diagnostic imaging. Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats. Maintain accurate patient records and communicate pertinent information to the veterinarian. Educate clients regarding medications, treatments, preventative care, and home-care instructions. Maintain clean, organized, and appropriately stocked treatment, surgery, and laboratory areas. Assist with emergency and urgent patient care when needed. Qualifications Prior veterinary hospital experience is required. Must be proficient in IV catheter placement in dogs and cats. Must be proficient in blood collection, including from cats. Experience assisting with surgery and dentistry is strongly preferred. Ability to safely restrain and handle dogs and cats. Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment. Good communication and client-service skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a veterinary team. Experience with veterinary practice-management software and diagnostic equipment is a plus. RVTs are strongly encouraged to apply. Compensation $20.00-$24.00 per hour , depending on experience and skill level. Compensation for experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
