Job Description
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) - Monday-Wednesday Affordable Animal Hospital in Compton is hiring an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to work three days per week: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We are looking for a skilled, dependable RVT who can work independently and confidently handle advanced technical responsibilities in a busy veterinary hospital. The RVT will provide high-quality medical and nursing care to our patients while supporting our veterinarians with surgical, dental, diagnostic, and treatment procedures. Schedule Monday-Wednesday Three days per week Requirements & Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required. Minimum of three (3) years of clinical veterinary experience preferred. Strong animal restraint, patient handling, and nursing skills. Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced veterinary hospital. Ability to multitask and prioritize the needs of multiple patients. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Experience with Avimark practice management software preferred. Experience with Abaxis in-house laboratory equipment and IDEXX reference laboratory preferred. Comfortable working in both appointment-based and walk-in environments. Technical Skills Candidates should be proficient and able to work independently in: IV catheter placement. Blood collection/venipuncture. Intubation and extubation. Anesthesia induction and monitoring. Surgical preparation and assistance. Patient monitoring and recovery following anesthesia. Dental cleanings and polishing. Dental radiographs. In-house laboratory testing. IV fluid therapy. Calculating medication and fluid dosages. Administering medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. We are looking for an RVT who takes pride in providing excellent patient care, works well with doctors and support staff, and is comfortable taking responsibility for hospitalized, surgical, and dental patients.
