Job Description
Affordable Animal Hospital in Compton is hiring a full-time experienced Veterinary Technician with at least three (3) years of clinical experience. The primary responsibility of a Veterinary Technician is to provide high-quality medical and nursing care to patients while supporting our veterinarians and delivering exceptional client service. We are looking for Veterinary Technicians who possess a strong combination of technical expertise, compassion, and excellent communication skills. Successful candidates must work well in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with veterinarians, fellow team members, and clients. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Veterinary Technician in a veterinary hospital. Basic understanding of animal behavior, nursing care, and patient handling. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Passion for working with animals and providing exceptional client service. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient needs simultaneously. Experience with Avimark practice management software preferred. Experience with Abaxis in-house laboratory equipment and IDEXX reference laboratory preferred. Familiarity with both appointment-based and walk-in veterinary practices. I would also add these if you're looking for a stronger technician: IV catheter placement and blood collection. Anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance. Dental radiographs. In-house laboratory experience. Ability to calculate medication dosages. Experience placing and maintaining IV fluid therapy.
