Job Description

Overnight Veterinary Technician — Fountain Valley Emergency Pet Hospital Fountain Valley Emergency Pet Hospital is a privately owned, small animal emergency hospital providing immediate care for sick and injured pets overnight, when they need us most. We're looking for an experienced emergency veterinary technician who thrives working independently during quiet stretches and pulls together fast when a critical case walks in. You'll work alongside a small, tight-knit overnight team, offering not just medical skill but a steady, compassionate presence for pets and the families who trust us with them in the middle of the night. Pay & Schedule $25.00 - $36.00 per hour, D.O.E. (depending on experience and licensing) Full-time, 10-hour overnight shifts,
Wednesday-Saturday Wed & Thu:
10:00p - 8:30a
Fri & Sat:
12:00a - 10:30a Holidays required paid at time and a half (specific holidays reviewed during interview) Qualifications Two or more years of experience working with emergency and critical patients RVT preferred; experienced technicians without certification are welcome to apply Comfortable working independently overnight, using sound judgment and creative problem-solving when the on-shift doctor's guidance needs quick, resourceful follow-through Solid hands-on skills: blood draws, IV placement, in-house lab work, radiograph positioning, safe restraint, surgical prep Knowledge of veterinary
CPR/CPCR
protocols Strong with medical calculations (drug dosing, CRIs, fluid rates) Familiarity with ezyVet practice management software a big plus Strong critical thinking with the ability to quickly recognize what a patient needs based on presentation Calm, adaptable, and organized when priorities shift fast Reliable attendance and punctuality, so our patients always have consistent, dependable care Excellent customer service skills, with genuine patience, compassion, and empathy for pet parents in stressful, emotional moments Preferred Bilingual communication What You'll Do You'll handle the full scope of overnight emergency care triage, critical patient monitoring, diagnostics, anesthesia support, and client communication working closely with the overnight doctor and team to keep cases moving safely and efficiently.
