Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant to join our dynamic team.

Orchard Veterinary Hospital is under new ownership and we are looking to expand our hours and will be providing high quality and compassionate veterinary medical, preventative, and urgent care. Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures Handle and restrain animals during treatments and X-rays Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian Collect samples for laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis Maintain cleanliness and organization Work as CSR if required Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment plans Monitor patient vital signs and report any abnormalities to the veterinarian Ability to place IV catheters is a plus, but on the job training is available Requirements Preferred Dental Skills Strong experience or interest in veterinary dentistry , including: Dental prophylaxis (scaling, polishing, charting) Dental radiographs Assisting with dental extractions Proper dental instrument care, setup, and maintenance Ability to safely manage anesthesia Experience with fear-free handling techniques preferred Strong communication, interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure Passion for animal care and welfare Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., bend, and stand for extended periods of time

Salary Range:
