This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional animal care during the overnight hours, ensuring our patients receive continuous, compassionate attention. As a Veterinary Technician Overnight, you will be instrumental in supporting critical and emergency veterinary procedures, monitoring anesthesia, and assisting with diagnostics—all while working in a fast-paced, energetic environment. Your expertise will help us deliver top-tier veterinary care around the clock, making a real difference in the lives of our animal patients and their owners. Responsibilities Monitor hospitalized animals' vital signs and overall condition during overnight shifts, ensuring their safety and comfort. Assist with emergency medicine procedures, including IV insertion, vascular access, and animal restraint to stabilize critical patients. Support anesthesia administration and monitoring during surgical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques and veterinary anesthesia protocols. Perform laboratory work such as phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology (X-ray), and veterinary laboratory diagnostics to aid in accurate diagnosis. Handle animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining a sterile environment for surgical and medical procedures. Operate medical equipment like radiology machines, anesthesia monitors, and other diagnostic tools with precision. Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, treatment plans, and post-operative care to ensure clarity and reassurance. Skills Proven kennel experience combined with animal handling skills for dogs, cats, and other small animals. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to assist in various procedures. Experience with veterinary critical care, emergency medicine, and intensive care protocols. Skilled in laboratory techniques such as phlebotomy, IV insertion, animal catheterization, and medication administration. Knowledge of general anesthesia management and veterinary anesthesia monitoring practices. Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and diagnostic radiology procedures.
