. We also provide avian specialty veterinary services and advanced surgeries and procedures for birds. The ideal candidate has an excellent work ethic, has at least 5+ years working as a veterinary technician, and motivated to learn. Strong preference for RVTs with dental extraction experience. Key duties include inducing/monitoring anesthesia, performing dental extractions, suturing, taking radiographs, administering vaccines/medications, and providing veterinary patient care for dog, cats, birds and small exotic mammals. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring comfort and safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory work including phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology, and veterinary laboratory tests to support accurate diagnoses. Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, anesthesia monitors, and surgical instruments with precision. Administer medications, vaccines, and fluids via IV insertion or other routes while monitoring patient responses during anesthesia or critical care. Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical & intensive care, vascular access, and assisting with animal catheterization when needed. Maintain detailed records using veterinary software, documenting procedures, treatments, and client communications clearly and accurately. Requirements Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy. Kennel experience along with knowledge of dog handling techniques and animal husbandry practices. Experience in veterinary critical care, anesthesia (including general anesthesia), and emergency medicine is highly desirable. Familiarity with laboratory work such as phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology (X-ray), and radiology diagnostics. Ability to operate medical equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique standards. Excellent animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and equine patients; equine experience is a plus. Strong client communication skills to educate pet owners about pet care, treatment plans, and follow-up procedures.
