Since 2017, we've focused exclusively on small animal surgery and physical rehabilitation—no wellness visits, no vaccines—just advanced surgical care delivered with compassion and precision. We've recently opened a new, state-of-the-art surgical center in Lynwood, CA, and we're expanding our team. Position Summary We're looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Technician Assistant who thrives in a high-level surgical environment. This role involves assisting with anesthesia, surgery preparation, patient recovery, and ongoing patient care. The ideal candidate is confident in the surgical suite, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and patient welfare. This position will split time between our Sherman Oaks and Lynwood locations (five days per week). Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile and efficient environment. Safely induce, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia under supervision. Prepare patients for surgery (clip, scrub, positioning, and draping). Maintain accurate medical records and surgical logs. Monitor vital signs and patient comfort during recovery. Maintain surgical and treatment equipment; perform routine cleaning and sterilization. Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients regarding post-operative care instructions, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and cared for. Support physical rehabilitation sessions and post-op therapy as needed. Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth case flow and exceptional patient care.
Qualifications Preferred:
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in California ---> Experienced veterinary assistants with strong surgical skills will also be considered. Minimum 2 years of experience in a veterinary clinical or surgical setting. Understanding of anesthesia protocols, monitoring, and recovery. Ability to perform surgical preparation and assist with orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. Familiarity with record keeping and digital radiography systems. Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to convey empathy, professionalism, and calm under pressure when interacting with clients and team members. Calm under pressure and attentive to detail in a fast-paced surgical environment
Location:
We have two locations, our primary surgical center is in Lynwood, and a satellite location in Sherman Oaks, CA.
Schedule :
Monday-Friday, typically 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Compensation & Benefits $25-$35/hour, plus bonus opportunities. Lunch provided most days. Supportive, team-oriented work environment.
