Job Description
Location:
ACCESS Pasadena Schedule:
Overnight or late swing Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat 4x10 schedule Shift start times range from 6pm- 9pm.
Pay range:
$25- 38 / hr (dependent upon experience and skills assessment)
- Additional weekend and evening differentials Full-time with comprehensive benefits package, CE and licensing reimbursement.
Technician Growth :
We care about setting our team up for long term success with our structured onboarding and Level Up program, led by Technician Trainers and Department Leads. This ensures that you are supported and get paid for the things you learn, increasing your skills and earning potential with each Level achieved. Support for pursuing your VTS is also provided with 3 VTS (with more up and coming!) working across our ACCESS specialty teams. What you'll do:Advanced Patient Care:
Move beyond basic vitals to practice high-level critical thinking. You will perform advanced triage, closely monitor complex patient trends, and proactively advocate for critical patients.Anesthesia & Analgesia:
Confidently calculate and administer emergency drug dosages, manage multi-drug CRIs, and execute precise dilutions. Run and monitor anesthesia for emergency sedatives or surgical procedures and alert doctors during acute patient decompensation.Diagnostics & Imaging:
Rapidly perform emergency diagnostics including radiographs, and advanced blood gas analysis. Perform advanced technical skills including the placement, utilization, and maintenance of PICC lines, central/triple-lumen catheters, indwelling urinary catheters, and nasogastric tubes.Compassionate Service & Collaboration:
Serve as a steady, empathetic anchor for pet owners during some of the most stressful moments of their lives, and function as a crucial gear within our multidisciplinary team. You will deliver clear, compassionate communication regarding incoming triage statuses, facilitate intensive care patient visits, and help provide supportive discharge instructions. You will collaborate across departments to provide quality post-operative care for incoming specialty transfers and deliver detailed patient rounds to ensure continuity of care during shift changes. What we're looking for: Current Registered Veterinary Technician with emergency and critical care nursing experience. VTS or interest in pursuing higher certifications is a plus. Strong to advanced knowledge and experience around patient nursing care, medical math and pharmacology.Driven, collaborative team player eager to work in a progressive environment.
