Job Description
ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Pasadena is seeking an experienced Technician Trainer to join our team! This is the perfect role for an experienced Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT/CVT/LVT) or Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) who is passionate about mentoring and practicing at the top of their licensure.
Pay range:
$35- 45/hr depending on credentialing, experience and skillset.
- Additional weekend shift differentials of $2/hr
- Additional swing shift and overnight differentials of $2
- 3/hr
Schedule:
4 x 10 hour shifts. This role supports team members across departments. 8am-6:30pm typical schedule with one weekend shift required per month.Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports current training objectives and organization, while creating and supplementing additional technical training coursework as necessary Work in collaboration with other Technician Trainers, Department Leads, and administrators to maximize staff involvement with training initiatives Advocate for updates to outlines, texts, handouts, tests, and practical exercises as needed for all technical training Administer written and practical exams for technical training, and work with the department leads to provide updates on team progress Assist in interviews and skill assessments for all potential technical staff new hires, at the request of the Technician Managers Assist in the arrangement and provision of technical training for all pertinent staff through multiple forums / modalities / times to maximize exposure to 24-hour staff attention Assist in technical staff reviews in a skill / technical assessment capacity to ensure staff members are provided clear expectations and understand how they perform compared to those expectations Responsible for initiation of new technical employees into home hospital Responsible for upholding the spirit of ACCESS by handling all necessary tasks thatQualifications:
The Technician Trainer must possess an RVT and 3+ years of technical experience in a large hospital setting with exposure to multiple specialties such as Critical Care, Cardiology, Surgery, Internal Medicine etc. Proven experience in teaching or training within a veterinary setting preferred Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, including clinical procedures, animal handling, and medical terminology.
