Description Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) North County Animal Hospital Full-time Paso Robles, CA Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $ 26-30/hour . The actual pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. About You You're an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who thrives in a busy, team-oriented hospital. You take pride in high-quality patient care, clear client communication, and supporting doctors and teammates to keep the day running smoothly. In this role, you'll provide hands-on nursing care across outpatient treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia support, and patient intake /discharges—helping pets feel safer and clients feel informed. Your Experience & Skills 1+ years of experience as an RVT California Registered Veterinary Technician licensure required Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; able to prioritize and multitask Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient in IV catheter placement, venipuncture, intubation and IV, IM and SQ injections Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment Proficient with dental radiographs Proficient in ultrasound-guided cystocentesis Dental Extraction Experience is preferred but not required Prioritize collaborative leadership and mentoring team members to encourage their growth and skill set.
Role Responsibilities:
Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients. With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the California Veterinary Practice Act requirements for registered veterinary technicians. Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments. Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records in our PMS. Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and communicate them to the veterinarians and other team members. Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
