Overnight Veterinary Technician Inland Empire Veterinary Surgical Specialty (IEVSS) Rancho Cucamonga, CA About Us Inland Empire Veterinary Surgical Specialty (IEVSS) is a growing veterinary surgical specialty hospital dedicated to providing exceptional orthopedic and soft tissue surgical care. Our team is committed to delivering outstanding patient care, client communication, and advanced veterinary medicine in a supportive and collaborative environment. We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and detail-oriented Overnight Veterinary Technician to join our team. This position plays a critical role in monitoring hospitalized patients, ensuring patient comfort, and supporting the continuity of care between day and night teams. Position Summary The Overnight Veterinary Technician is responsible for providing nursing care to hospitalized surgical patients, monitoring recovery, administering treatments, and maintaining accurate medical records throughout the night shift. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with doctors and the daytime nursing team. Responsibilities Monitor hospitalized patients throughout the overnight shift. Perform and document patient assessments, including vital signs, pain scoring, and treatment responses. Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed. Monitor post-operative patients and identify changes in condition. Maintain accurate and timely medical records. Perform patient walks, feeding, cleaning, and general nursing care. Ensure treatment sheets are completed accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment. Prepare hospitalized patients for morning rounds. Communicate patient updates and concerns to the medical team. Assist with emergency and urgent patient care as needed. Follow all hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures. Qualifications Veterinary Technician experience required. RVT license preferred but not required. Previous emergency, specialty, or surgical nursing experience is highly desirable. Strong patient care and monitoring skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and restrain animals safely. Comfortable working overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
