Help Build the Hospital You've Always Wanted to Work In Whipple Ave Pet Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician who wants more than just another technician position. Now under new ownership and management, we're actively building a hospital centered on Fear Free medicine, clinical excellence, accountability, continuous learning, and teamwork. As our hospital grows, we're looking for an experienced RVT who wants to help shape our medical standards, mentor the next generation of veterinary professionals, and create systems that allow our team and our patients to thrive. We're looking for someone who doesn't wait to be asked to improve things. What You'll Do As an Experienced RVT, you'll be an essential clinical leader within our hospital by: Delivering exceptional nursing care and advocating for every patient. Monitoring anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures with a strong emphasis on patient safety and evidence-based medicine. Assisting with examinations, diagnostics, emergency procedures, and treatment plans. Performing advanced technical skills including IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, radiography, laboratory diagnostics, and anesthesia monitoring. Educating clients with confidence, compassion, and professionalism. Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records. Leading by example through excellent medical standards, organization, and attention to detail. Mentoring veterinary assistants and newer technicians through coaching, teaching, and positive reinforcement. Helping develop, refine, and maintain hospital Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials, and clinical workflows. Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, patient care, and team development, and taking initiative to implement thoughtful solutions. Supporting a culture of accountability where mistakes become opportunities for learning and system improvement, not blame. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who naturally demonstrates leadership regardless of their title.
Our ideal candidate:
✔ Is a current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). ✔ Possesses strong technical skills in anesthesia, dentistry, radiology, phlebotomy, laboratory diagnostics, and patient nursing. ✔ Is passionate about mentoring others and enjoys helping teammates build confidence and technical skills. ✔ Communicates with professionalism, empathy, and respect while fostering psychological safety and open collaboration among patients, clients, and fellow team members. ✔ Welcomes change, embraces continuous improvement, and helps others adapt with a positive attitude. ✔ Takes ownership of problems, follows through on commitments, and can be trusted to independently manage projects and responsibilities. ✔ Maintains exceptionally high standards for cleanliness, infection control, organization, and patient safety. ✔ Leads through example, integrity, consistency, and accountability. ✔ Enjoys creating systems that make hospitals more efficient, organized, and successful. ✔ Leadership experience is highly preferred. RECOVER Certification and experience developing SOPs, training programs, or hospital workflows are strong advantages. Competitive compensation:
