Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as an Animal Care Technician, where your passion for animal welfare and hands-on skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this vital role, you'll provide exceptional animal care, assist with medical procedures, and support the daily operations of our veterinary facility. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help ensure a safe, clean, and caring environment for all animals under our supervision. Duties Provide compassionate care to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and equines, ensuring their well-being through feeding, grooming, and monitoring health status Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and team members Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary instructions with precision and aseptic technique Support laboratory work by collecting samples, preparing specimens, and maintaining accurate records of test results Handle front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating effectively with pet owners Perform animal handling tasks including dog handling, animal catheterization, and understanding animal physiology and anatomy for proper care Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to uphold high standards of hygiene and infection control Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background is highly preferred Experience working in a veterinary clinic or with veterinary technicians is a strong plus Knowledge of veterinary terminology and critical care procedures is desirable Demonstrated ability in animal restraint, medication administration, and pet care techniques Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine and aseptic techniques Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint methods for various species including dogs and horses Strong communication skills for front desk duties and client interactions Willingness to learn new skills such as animal catheterization or advanced veterinary procedures Join us if you're eager to grow your career in animal care within a supportive environment that values energetic dedication and detailed expertise.
