Job Description
Join the 101 Pet Vet Team — Part-Time Veterinary Assistant 101 Pet Vet is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our small-animal hospital in Ventura. We are a close-knit team dedicated to providing thoughtful, high-quality care to pets while creating a welcoming and supportive experience for their families. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in the veterinary field and be comfortable supporting the day-to-day needs of a busy small-animal practice. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Safely and compassionately restraining animals Understanding and using veterinary medical terminology Administering vaccines as directed Placing IV catheters and performing venipuncture Performing dental prophylaxis procedures Assisting veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgery Preparing and handling laboratory samples Organizing and prioritizing duties throughout the day Helping maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized hospital environment We are looking for someone who communicates well, follows direction from veterinarians and management, and works collaboratively with every member of the team. A genuine love for pets and respect for the people who care for them are essential. Experience with AVImark veterinary software is preferred, and bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. The anticipated schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, although hours may occasionally vary to help accommodate staff vacations and practice needs. Compensation will be based on experience and performance.
