Please email your resume and cover letter to . Who We Are Spire Canine Orthopedics, formerly Spire Veterinary Surgery, has been providing advanced veterinary surgical care since 2015. We now operate exclusively from our state-of-the-art orthopedic surgery center in Windsor, Colorado . Spire is dedicated exclusively to the treatment of orthopedic conditions in dogs . Our team is led by Dr. Kevin McAbee, ACVS board-certified surgeon , who specializes in veterinary orthopedics. We combine advanced surgical technology, meticulous planning, and minimally invasive techniques to treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions—from common injuries to complex fractures and everything in between. We are proud to provide exceptional surgical care in a professional, collaborative, and patient-focused environment. What You'll Do As a Surgical & Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with Dr. McAbee and the surgical team throughout the entire patient experience.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare and monitor anesthesia protocols for surgical patients Assist with orthopedic and advanced arthroscopic surgical procedures Maintain patient safety and provide exceptional pre

- and post-operative care Prepare and maintain the surgical instrument table during procedures Obtain diagnostic radiographs using proper positioning and technique Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment Remain scrubbed in and focused for extended surgical procedures Perform nursing duties including blood draws, IV catheter placement, intubation, laboratory procedures, and pre•and post-operative care Complete and maintain accurate medical records, including SOAPs, anesthesia records, estimates, and invoices Utilize ezyVet practice management software Provide excellent patient and client care Assist with client communication and scheduling Assist with record keeping and general administrative tasks Maintain equipment and contribute to overall hospital organization and cleanliness Perform other duties as required This is an overview of the position and is not limited to the duties listed above.
What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, motivated, and genuinely enjoys being part of a team.
Preferred qualifications include:
Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) 2+ years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting Working knowledge of veterinary surgery, anatomy, and sterile technique Working knowledge of anesthesia and surgical nursing care Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team Ability to appropriately handle, lift, and restrain animals Ability to stand and remain focused for extended periods of time Strong communication and organizational skills Basic computer skills A positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude Experience in orthopedic surgery or anesthesia is a plus, but we are willing to train the right individual.
