No Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary hospital team. This position does not require certification as a veterinary technician . We welcome candidates with veterinary hospital experience, veterinary assistant experience, animal-care experience, or individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the veterinary field. The Veterinary Technician will assist the veterinarians and hospital team with patient care, treatment, surgery preparation, laboratory procedures, client communication, and general hospital operations. Training will be provided for hospital-specific procedures and duties within the employee's permitted scope of practice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with examinations and patient treatments. Obtain and record patient histories, weights, temperatures, and other basic patient information. Safely restrain animals for examinations, treatments, and procedures. Prepare examination and treatment areas. Assist with administering medications and treatments as directed and permitted by the supervising veterinarian and applicable regulations. Collect and properly handle laboratory samples as trained. Perform basic laboratory duties, such as preparing samples and operating routine diagnostic equipment. Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures as trained and permitted. Prepare patients and equipment for surgery. Assist the surgical team with patient preparation, monitoring, cleaning, and recovery as directed. Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly report changes in condition to the veterinarian. Maintain accurate and complete medical records. Clean, disinfect, and maintain examination rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment. Stock medications, supplies, and treatment areas. Assist with inventory management. Provide compassionate handling and care of hospitalized and boarding patients. Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding routine patient care and hospital procedures. Follow all hospital safety, sanitation, infection-control, and animal-handling protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Perform other duties as assigned by the veterinarian or hospital manager. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous veterinary, animal-care, kennel, shelter, grooming, or medical experience preferred but not required. Veterinary technician certification is not required. Must be comfortable handling dogs, cats, and other animals. Must be dependable, compassionate, detail-oriented, and willing to learn. Ability to work effectively as part of a veterinary medical team. Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy hospital environment. Good communication and customer-service skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and handle animals and equipment. Preferred Skills Previous veterinary hospital experience. Experience with animal restraint and handling. Familiarity with veterinary terminology. Experience with medical records or veterinary practice-management software. Basic knowledge of animal anatomy, medications, and common veterinary procedures. Interest in pursuing additional veterinary education or certification. Physical Requirements Ability to safely restrain and handle animals. Ability to lift and carry animals and equipment as required by the position. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods. Ability to work around animal hair, dander, bodily fluids, cleaning products, and medical equipment. No Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Technician to join our veterinary hospital team. The Kennel Technician is responsible for providing excellent daily care to hospitalized, boarding, and recovering animals while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with dogs and cats, enjoys caring for animals, and can work efficiently in a busy veterinary hospital. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide daily care, feeding, watering, and monitoring of hospitalized and boarding animals. Walk dogs and provide appropriate exercise and enrichment. Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, runs, and animal-care areas. Change bedding and maintain clean, comfortable housing for all patients. Monitor animals for changes in appetite, behavior, activity, elimination, or overall condition. Report abnormalities or concerns promptly to the veterinary technician or veterinarian. Assist with safely handling and restraining animals when needed. Assist veterinary staff with moving and transporting patients throughout the hospital. Maintain accurate feeding, walking, medication, and care records. Provide medications or other routine treatments only when trained, authorized, and permitted by applicable law and hospital policy . Assist with bathing and basic grooming as needed. Prepare food and follow individualized feeding instructions. Maintain clean food and water bowls and animal-care equipment. Assist with laundry, dishes, trash removal, and general hospital cleaning. Restock kennels, treatment areas, and animal-care supplies. Assist with receiving and discharging boarding patients. Provide courteous and compassionate customer service to clients. Follow all hospital sanitation, safety, animal-handling, and infection-control procedures. Maintain a safe environment for patients, clients, and staff. Perform other duties as assigned by hospital management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous animal-care, kennel, shelter, grooming, boarding, or veterinary experience preferred but not required. No veterinary technician certification required. Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Compassionate and patient with animals. Able to follow detailed instructions and patient-care protocols. Strong attention to cleanliness and organization. Professional communication and customer-service skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and reach. Ability to safely lift and carry animals and supplies. Ability to safely handle animals that may be fearful, anxious, or resistant. Ability to work around animal hair, dander, odors, bodily fluids, cleaning products, and medical waste. Work Environment This position works in a veterinary hospital environment and may involve exposure to barking animals, animal waste, bodily fluids, cleaning chemicals, medications, and potentially stressful or emotionally difficult situations. Proper training and personal protective equipment will be provided as appropriate.
