Your expertise will support everything from routine pet care to complex veterinary procedures, making a positive impact on animal health and owner satisfaction. Duties Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed with precision. Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests and prepare samples for analysis, supporting diagnostic processes with accuracy. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Manage pet grooming, pet care, and animal husbandry tasks to promote comfort and health. Take and develop X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are adhered to at all times. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care routines. Handle animal catheterization, animal anatomy identification, and other critical veterinary technical tasks with confidence. Assist with equine (horse) care when necessary, applying specialized knowledge of large animal handling and physiology. Contribute to the maintenance of detailed medical records, including lab results, treatment plans, and procedural documentation. Experience Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal handling experience is highly valued. Demonstrated veterinary technician experience or related animal healthcare background is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy enhances your ability to excel in this role. Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, and veterinary critical care is advantageous. Familiarity with dog training, pet grooming, and pet care practices supports comprehensive animal management skills. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols is essential for maintaining a sterile environment. Ability to handle animals safely during restraint or restraint training sessions demonstrates your commitment to humane treatment.
