We have been offering above standard patient care, as well as a pleasant experience to all pet owners, whether they have a tiny hamster, a snake or a large macaw. Are you an adventurous Veterinary Technician with a passion for exotic animals? Look no further! The Bird & Exotic Hospital, a premier clinic specializing in avian, reptile, and small mammal care, is seeking an experienced and licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team.
Job responsibilities:
Patient triage and restraint for procedures and exams Venipuncture and catheter placement Laboratory sample collection and processing Provide post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery. Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures and ensure patient safety and comfort. Pharmacy and medication administration Diagnostic imaging Educate pet owners on proper handling, nutrition, and general care for exotic animals. Our requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician Previous exotic animal experience highly desirable. Licensed Veterinary Technician with a focus on exotic animals (will consider previous exotic experience without a license or Certification) Strong knowledge of exotic animal medicine and procedures Experience handling and restraining a wide range of exotic species Excellent communication skills, both with the team and pet owners Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities Step into a world where each day brings you face-to-face with the extraordinary.
