Responsibilities:
Veterinary Technicians
  • ER Team Leads at Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic are responsible for: Emergency patient triage and care Venipuncture IV catheter placement Obtaining radiographs Running in-house diagnostic testing IV fluid therapy Surgical assisting and post-operative care Client education and communication Safe, low-stress pet restraint Maintaining hospital cleanliness as part of a team Training fellow team members while working side by side Ensuring adherence to standards and completion of routine tasks First point of contact for client concerns and escalating when appropriate Ensuring the clinic has the necessary stock on hand and proactively reporting low stock levels to Operations Manager for ordering The ideal candidate for our Emergency Veterinary Technician•Team Lead role must: have a minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience; technicians with certification are preferred have the ability to adhere to the attendance policy have any allergies to animals controllable through medication be able to lift 40 pounds willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions to include overnight and weekends, and rotating all major holidays have the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day have visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directions have the ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person and over the telephone have fine motor skills adequate for nursing skills such as phlebotomy and utilizing hospital equipment Benefits The Emergency Veterinary Technician•Team Lead role offers competitive benefits package for full-time team members includes: Health insurance benefit contribution (Medical, Dental & Vision) Paid Time Off Retirement Plan ( 401k) Optional supplemental insurance plans Long Term Disability Insurance Continuing Education and development opportunities Generous Pet discount Paid Holidays and Holiday incentive pay Company-provided uniforms
