Experienced Veterinary Technician Care For Paws Animal Hospital LLC Lauderhill, FL Job Details Full-time $20 - $25 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications Customer communication Animal hospital experience Full Job Description Care For Paws Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. This position is intended for candidates with previous hands-on experience working in a veterinary hospital or animal clinic. Applicants without veterinary experience will not be considered at this time. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures Safely restrain dogs and cats Obtain patient histories and record accurate medical information Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples Place IV catheters and administer medications as directed Monitor patients before, during, and after anesthesia Prepare surgical instruments and treatment areas Perform laboratory tests and assist with digital radiographs Provide hospitalized and postoperative patient care Review medications and discharge instructions with clients Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment areas Qualifications Previous veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is required Comfortable handling dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments Experience with blood draws, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance is strongly preferred Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills Dependable, professional, compassionate, and able to work as part of a team Able to multitask and remain calm in a busy veterinary environment Availability to work some weekends as scheduled Experience using Neo Veterinary Software is a plus Compensation $18.00-$25.00 per hour , depending on veterinary experience, technical abilities, qualifications, and position responsibilities. We are seeking team members with open availability . Candidates must be flexible with their schedules and willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Schedule flexibility is a mandatory requirement for this position.
