Duties Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and animal areas to promote health and hygiene. Provide daily care including feeding, watering, exercising, and monitoring animals' health status. Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, or medication administration to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with basic procedures such as medication administration, animal handling, and sample collection. Observe animals closely for signs of illness or distress; document any abnormalities or concerns for veterinary review. Handle administrative tasks such as recording treatments, updating patient records, and managing kennel logs. Support front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and providing excellent customer service. Skills Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medical procedures, and laboratory techniques relevant to animal care. Skilled in animal restraint techniques for dogs, cats, and other small animals; familiarity with equine handling is a plus. Experience administering medications accurately following aseptic techniques; familiarity with catheterization and anatomy is beneficial. Ability to handle animals confidently using proper restraint methods while ensuring safety for all involved. Strong understanding of animal physiology, anatomy, and pet care best practices across various species including dogs and horses. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with veterinary teams and educate pet owners on care routines.
