Job Description
We are a highly respected, busy, nonprofit, no kill animal shelter in Clay County, Florida. We have a position available for an entry-level veterinary technician. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, multitask, and work as a team player. This position requires knowledge about animal vaccinations, veterinary techniques and procedures and familiarity with zoonotic diseases and various pet health conditions. Provide animals in the shelter's care with daily medications, basic physical examinations, recheck exams, fecal exams, ear cytology, blood draws, re-vaccinations and monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Candidate must have excellent customer service and teamwork skills, excellent phone skills with a positive and friendly attitude, including effectively dealing with individuals who are difficult, or distressed. Be able to operate a computer. Excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic is a must. A caring and compassionate attitude is required of all team members.
