We are looking for a knowledgeable and friendly Veterinary Technician with at least 4 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a veterinary clinic, be able to make decisions in emergency situations and be able to handle stressful situations calmly. Our Veterinary Technician will be responsible for caring for a wide variety of pets in a professional and ethical manner and work closely with the veterinarian to ensure that all animals are provided with the highest level of care. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile fields, and monitoring anesthesia using veterinary anesthesia monitoring techniques. Perform laboratory work including blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic radiology to support accurate diagnoses. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dog handling and animal restraint protocols, ensuring comfort and safety for pets and staff. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary terminology and prescribed protocols. Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, laboratory analyzers, and radiology diagnostics tools to facilitate precise diagnostics. Maintain detailed records using veterinary software for patient histories, treatments, laboratory results, and radiology reports. Support emergency medicine efforts by providing critical care in urgent situations, including vascular access procedures like IV insertion and animal catheterization. Assist with veterinary surgical procedures by preparing the operating area, monitoring anesthesia (including general anesthesia), and ensuring aseptic technique is maintained throughout procedures. Conduct pet care activities such as feeding, grooming, and cleaning kennels to promote animal well-being during their stay. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to foster trust and understanding. Experience A minimum of 4 years of experience is highly valued for effective animal handling and care. Experience with veterinary critical care or emergency medicine enhances your ability to respond swiftly in urgent situations. Laboratory experience including phlebotomy or diagnostic radiology is preferred to support diagnostic workflows. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and surgical assistance techniques is essential for success in this role. Familiarity with veterinary anesthesia monitoring systems, medical equipment operation, and aseptic techniques ensures high standards of patient safety.
