WEEKEND Veterinary Technician (Emergency & General Practice)

Oviedo, FL Job Type:
Full-Time / Part-Time Oviedo Veterinary Care and Emergency is seeking an experienced and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our 24-hour animal hospital in Oviedo, FL. We are dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care , advanced medical services, and exceptional client experiences to our community. We are looking for a skilled Veterinary Technician who thrives in a fast-paced emergency and general practice environment and is passionate about both critical care and preventative medicine . Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with routine, surgical, and emergency procedures Perform patient triage and emergency stabilization of critical cases Provide care and treatment for hospitalized patients Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records Support daily workflow and ensure efficient clinic operations Communicate effectively with clients regarding care, treatment plans, and follow-ups
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or Vet Tech (Emergency experience preferred) Proficiency in animal restraint and handling techniques Experience with patient triage and critical care support Skilled in venipuncture and sample collection Ability to perform laboratory diagnostics , including fecal exams and cytology preparation/analysis Familiarity with in-house laboratory equipment and blood analyzers Experience performing digital radiography (X-rays) Knowledge of common veterinary medications, dosages, and routes of administration Experience with surgical nursing and anesthesia monitoring Strong client communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
