Located in the beautiful coastal community of St. Augustine Beach , Del Mar Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned, boutique-style veterinary practice dedicated to providing exceptional, low-stress care for dogs, cats, birds, and other small companion animals. As a Fear Free Certified Practice and AAHA-Accredited Hospital , we are committed to delivering the highest standards of veterinary medicine while creating a positive, compassionate experience for both our patients and their families. About the
Position:
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our Fear Free medical team. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on teamwork, communicates professionally, and takes pride in delivering outstanding patient care and client service.
This position requires someone who:
Loves working with both dogs and cats Is proactive and eager to support teammates Has excellent attention to detail Is comfortable multitasking in a busy hospital setting Enjoys building relationships with clients and patients Is confident taking initiative and growing into a leadership role Must physically be able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on their feet throughout the workday
Please Note:
We are looking for someone interested in building a long-term career with Del Mar Veterinary Hospital and growing into a leadership position within our medical team. Applicants seeking only a temporary position or part-time employment will not be considered.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Veterinary industry experience Active driver's license Live within a 15-mile radius of the hospital Weekend availability when scheduled Computer proficiency Typing speed of at least 40 WPM Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and data-entry skills Ability to work independently while also being an outstanding team player
Preferred:
Veterinary Technician License/Certification Bilingual (English/Spanish) American Sign Language (ASL)
COMPENSATION
: Compensation is based on education, technical skills, and relevant veterinary experience. Experienced Veterinary Technician $18

  • Experienced, Unlicensed Technician $20
  • 24/hour
  • Licensed/Certified Veterinary Technician Pay is based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Successful candidates will:
Deliver compassionate, Fear Free patient care Maintain exceptional attention to detail and accurate medical records Educate clients on preventive medicine, nutrition, parasite prevention, and wellness care Follow OSHA and hospital safety protocols Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and coworkers Stay calm, positive, and efficient during busy or emergency situations Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming hospital environment Ensure medical supplies remain stocked and organized Participate in team meetings and ongoing training Support fellow team members whenever needed Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient and client information Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, accountability, and a positive attitude every day
