Director of Operations Job Summary Epic Specialty & Emergency Pet Care is seeking a Senior Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join our growing internal medicine department. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced technician with a passion for complex cases, advanced patient care, and collaborative specialty medicine
Key Responsibilities:
Provide advanced nursing care to patients with complex internal medicine conditions (GI, renal, hepatic, endocrine, immune-mediated, etc.). Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics including ultrasound-guided sample collection, radiology, and endoscopy support. Manage anesthesia and sedation for diagnostic procedures. Accurately triage and assess patients, escalating changes in status as appropriate. Maintain detailed medical records and treatment logs. Educate and support clients through complex case management and discharge instructions. Lead by example in handling, restraint, aseptic technique, and patient comfort. Train and mentor junior technicians and assistants. Assist in protocol development and quality improvement within the internal medicine service.
Qualifications & Skills:
Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) with current license in good standing. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in internal medicine or a specialty setting. Level 2 or 3 technician (per internal leveling standards) with demonstrated senior-level competency. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously and within a team. Strong proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, sample collection, imaging support, and patient monitoring. Commitment to continued education and pursuit of excellence in Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specialized diagnostic equipment and procedures. Training in advanced anesthesia monitoring. Knowledge of veterinary software systems (e.g., Instinct).
Schedule:
10 hour shift Day shift Every weekend Monday to Friday Morning shift Rotating weekends Weekends as needed
