• Overview
• Grand Central Veterinary Hospital is seeking a part time Veterinary Technician to join our team.

Position may become full time for the right candidate. We are a well established, 35+ year old privately owned small animal hospital that is looking for a reliable and responsible individual with flexibility in their schedule. The successful candidate will have some experience in a veterinary setting. Our technicians are also asked to cross-train at the front desk so the clinic can remain efficient during breaks, lunches, and unexpected absences.

• Duties
• Assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
• Perform laboratory tests such as in-house blood work and urinalysis
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Take X-rays
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Provide compassionate care to animals in various states of health
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care, preventatives and treatment plans
• Skills
• Proficiency in veterinary terminology and procedures
• Knowledge of animal handling techniques
• Familiarity with dental and critical care procedures for animals
• Ability to perform X-rays
• Experience in animal care
• Certification as a Veterinary Technician is a plus
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Pleasant, outgoing personality
