Job Description
Overview We are a one doctor, small animal Veterinary Clinic in the Gulf Place community of Santa Rosa Beach, FL! We are a family-owned, faith-based Veterinary Clinic where we believe that our work is not just a profession, but a calling. We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, hard-working, compassionate, experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting the veterinarian in various medical procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our patients and supporting pet owners through their veterinary experience. This position requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal husbandry, along with a passion for animal care. Responsibilities Assist the veterinarian in examinations, surgeries, and treatments of animals. Perform routine Idexx laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, including digital X-rays. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal health during procedures and recovery, ensuring comfort and safety. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques. Provide animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic environment. Care for hospitalized animals. Qualifications Proven experience in veterinary settings is preferred; certification as a Veterinary Technician is a plus. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal husbandry practices. Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols and procedures. Proficient in animal restraint techniques to ensure safe handling during examinations or treatments. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is essential.
