Header Overview Beneva Animal Hospital is privately owned small-animal practice looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality patient care and enjoys being part of a supportive, team-oriented hospital. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgical procedures, and diagnostic tests with precision and care Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during procedures Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests using veterinary laboratory equipment Prepare animals for surgery by administering anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining aseptic techniques Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and dental units with proficiency Administer medications via various routes including IV insertion and catheterization while monitoring animal responses Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical care, performing IV access, and assisting in stabilization efforts Maintain accurate records using veterinary software for procedures, diagnostics, medication administration, and client communication Assist with pet care tasks such as feeding, grooming, kennel management, and ensuring animal husbandry standards are met Support diagnostic radiology procedures including X-ray imaging and radiology diagnostics to aid in accurate diagnosis Skills Proven animal handling expertise Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary surgical assistance techniques Experience with dental terminology and performing dental procedures or assisting with dental cleanings Skilled in laboratory work such as phlebotomy, blood sample collection, and laboratory diagnostics Familiarity with anesthesia protocols including general anesthesia management and veterinary anesthesia monitoring Ability to perform IV insertion and animal catheterization efficiently Competent in operating medical equipment like radiology machines, X-ray units, and diagnostic tools Excellent animal restraint skills coupled with pet care knowledge to ensure safety during procedures Strong client communication skills to explain treatments clearly and provide compassionate pet care advice If you are looking for a Veterinary Hospital where your work in valued and you can make a difference every day, we'd love to hear from you!
