Job Description

Ophthalmology service is looking for a new animal care technician team member with receptionist experience to join our small animal ophthalmology specialty. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who wants to join a fantastic team providing an elite level of care for animals in Tallahassee, Florida. Position entails assisting with animal exams, anesthesia, and surgery and a reception administrative role. We typically plan for a team member to work 40 hours a week to include Friday and Saturday from 7 am-8 pm. Surgical/anesthesia skills and experience are desired, many of our patients are receiving unique, specialized care. There is ample on the job training, and this is an excellent opportunity for veterinary technicians to hone skills to a very high level of specialty practice in ophthalmology and anesthesia. Veterinary receptionist is an administrative role, you check-in our animal patients, maintain records and owner information, schedule appointments, process payments. You will also be asked to help prepare prescriptions or provide home-care instructions to pet owners. Candidates pursuing a career in veterinary medicine preferred. Excellent customer service ,computer skills and basic math skills are required. Candidates must be able to stay on task and work enthusiastically throughout the entire shift, which could exceed 11 hrs per day if emergencies present. Must be able to work late nights if needed.
