Job Summary:
- We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our animal care team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing quality medical care to animals, ensuring their well-being and comfort.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgeries, and dental procedures
- Perform in house laboratory tests such as fecals, urinalysis and ear cytology
- Able to use Antec/ Heska lab machines
- Perform simple grooming: nail trims and anal glands
- Able to draw blood from canines and felines
- Administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian
- Provide compassionate care and support to animals and their owners
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of treatments
- Handle and restrain animals during procedures and examinations
- Monitor patients while under anesthesia and the recovery from anesthesia
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment protocols
Qualifications:
- Experience in animal care, handling, and restraint
- Proficiency in animal physiology, husbandry, and catheterization
- Knowledge of kennel procedures
- Strong communication skills with both clients and colleagues
