Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures, including anesthesia monitoring, animal restraint, and surgical assistance Perform laboratory work such as blood draws, sample collection, and diagnostic testing using veterinary software and radiology diagnostics tools Manage animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining animal comfort and safety. Administer medications via IV insertion, medication administration protocols, and ensure proper aseptic techniques during procedures Handle pet care responsibilities such as dental cleanings utilizing dental terminology knowledge, animal restraint, and pet handling skills Operate medical equipment including X-ray machines, diagnostic radiology tools, and critical & intensive care monitoring systems Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical care interventions like vascular access, IV catheterization, and veterinary anesthesia monitoring Qualifications Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong background in veterinary critical care, anesthesia, laboratory work, and emergency medicine Kennel experience and familiarity with animal husbandry Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and surgical procedures Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint techniques, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and animal catheterization Experience operating medical equipment such as X-ray machines and diagnostic radiology tools Ability to communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions and treatment plans Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience is essential Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly impact the health and happiness of animals.
