We currently have six technicians and are looking to hire an additional full time veterinary technician with prior experience in small animal companion medicine. Schedule is flexible with ample time off, including paid time off and paid holidays. Education and licensure is not required. Routing rooms, taking basic historical information on patients and assisting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and equipment. Perform animal restraint using humane techniques to ensure safety during treatments and examinations. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics to aid in accurate diagnosis. Phlebotomy experience and confidence is a must. Maintain detailed medical records, including vaccination history, treatment plans, and laboratory results. Support pet owners with pet care advice, grooming tips, and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing health. Take X-ray images with appropriate technique. Perform routine dental prophylaxis procedures. Manage animal catheterization and intravenous access with precision and care. Support critical care cases involving emergency stabilization or intensive treatment protocols. Handle dogs and other animals using proper dog training and handling techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Proven hands-on experience with animals. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, basic animal anatomy, physiology, and pet care best practices. Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, anesthetic induction and monitoring and aseptic techniques. Strong animal restraint skills along with proficiency in dog and cat handling. Familiarity with dental terminology related to veterinary dentistry procedures. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations involving veterinary critical care cases. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and pet owners.
Pay:
$25.50 - $35.00 per hour
