ICU/PACU
care! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional critical care and support to our hospitalized animals during overnight shifts, ensuring their comfort, safety, and swift recovery. Your expertise in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and critical care procedures will be essential in delivering top-tier medical attention. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets. Duties Monitor hospitalized patients in the ICU and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), providing continuous assessment and timely interventions. Administer medications, fluids, and treatments following veterinary instructions with precision and aseptic technique. Assist with animal restraint, catheterization, and sample collection for laboratory testing to support diagnosis and treatment plans. Maintain detailed records of patient status, treatments administered, and vital signs to ensure accurate documentation. Support diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging, laboratory work, and handling equipment. Ensure proper animal husbandry practices including feeding, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness of the
ICU/PACU
area. Support hospital departments by instrument cleaning and sterilization, restocking and inventory check-ins Communicate effectively with veterinary staff regarding patient progress and any concerns during overnight hours. Qualifications Understanding of animal husbandry and basic pet care routines. Veterinary technician experience or certification demonstrating proficiency in animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology is preferred. Hands-on experience with dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and pet behavior. Knowledge of laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, aseptic techniques and sterilization processes. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices including emergency response protocols. Ability to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining high standards of animal care and safety.
