Job Description

Lewiston Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician who is energetic, enthusiastic and a personable individual who loves to learn and is passionate about veterinary medicine to join our Small Animal Team. Clinical experience is required. This role is full time with rotating weekends offering an hourly wage (depending upon experience), medical benefits, paid vacation, sick leave, and a 401k plan upon qualifying. The successful applicant must be a Certified Veterinary Technician, team player, possess excellent leadership, written and verbal communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and high energy environment. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting the doctors in all aspects of patient care
  • Anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring and recovery
  • Obtain patient history and vitals for exams
  • Drug and fluid calculations
  • Administer medications, drugs and vaccines
  • Update and maintain paper and electronic medical records with accuracy and attention to detail
  • IV catheter placement and Venipuncture
  • Digital radiography
  • Surgical preparation and assisting
  • Bandage and wrap wounds
  • Correctly and safely restrain animals
  • Clean animal cages and equipment
