We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with the ability to provide high-quality veterinary support in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of our animal patients while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform laboratory tests and analyze results, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients' vital signs and overall health during procedures. Provide proper restraint techniques for animals during examinations and treatments. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas and kennels. Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures to prevent infections. Handle various species of animals with care, including dogs, cats and some pocket pets Qualifications Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred; kennel experience is a plus. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to animal dental care. Experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and critical care is highly desirable. Laboratory experience in performing diagnostic tests is beneficial. Strong skills in dog handling, training, grooming, and overall pet care are essential. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners compassionately and professionally. A commitment to providing exceptional care for animals in a supportive manner.
