We need a team member who is able to work in a social, TEAM based environment. This person must be also focused on delivering excellent care in a fast paced clinical setting. This position is meant to be for individuals who are comfortable being around animals and laboratory samples and are detail oriented. The main goal of this position is to aid staff in all aspects of the back end work that goes on in the animal hospital during appointments, office visits, surgical procedures and patient hospitalization.
Responsibilities:
Animal restraint during examinations, sample collections, and procedures Assisting in directed animal care with hospitalized patients Organizing and stocking hospital goods Organization of laboratory samples (blood, fecal, urine) Cleaning of pet-related messes Organizing medication orders for pickup Maintaining a clean office environment Helping facilitate clients into their exam rooms Answering simple client related questions
Education Requirements:
Veterinary Technician Certification desirable but not required Previous on the job training desirable when not a CVT High school degree or equivalent required
Skills/Requirements:
Be comfortable and not-allergic to a wide variety of pets: Dogs, Cats, Birds, Rabbits and small animals. Genuinely enjoy working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain. Be well spoken and approach their job duties in a mature way. Be able to work with a wide variety of team member personalities. Be experienced working as a productive member of a team and with all levels of hospital team members. Have excellent client communication skills. Be Comfortable/able to properly clean up animal messes Be physically comfortable lifting up to 40 lb multiple times daily Be able to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis. Be able to follow instructions properly Be able to adapt and learn tasks in an efficient manner. Be able to keep up with a fast-paced work environment. Preferred minimum of two years experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Job Type:
Full-time with average of 45 hours per week.
Pay:
Competitive hourly pay, daily paid lunch, Fully Paid Health Insurance (~$8400/year benefit) , Paid time off, 401K with 3% automatic salary match and 401K Profit sharing 2% salary match, overtime pay, and employee pet discount: Total compensation package between $50,000-65,000/year.
