This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants to fully utilize their skillset with autonomy, trust, and support in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice environment. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians. In this position, you will take an active role in: Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedules Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion Responsibilities include: Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Assisting in surgery Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service Schedule and compensation:
Compensation:
$18 - $25 per hour, for each hour worked This is a full-time position, with a 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday. Saturdays are on rotation. Full-time Benefits Package•: Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Illinois.
CE allowance:
$500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and disability Employee Assistance Program 401k with company match Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law Personal pet discount Uniform allowance Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum qualifications and skill set: 3+ years of veterinary technician experience Active and good-standing Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of Illinois•Proficiency in the following skills: Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery Surgical assistance and aseptic technique Heavy on Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement Radiology positioning and safety protocols Medication administration and accurate drug calculations Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing Client education and communication Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong critical thinking and attention to detail Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning •Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply Why choose Tender Care Animal Hospital?
