Location:
7712 Crosspoint Commons, Fishers, IN 46038 VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is expanding its Pet CancerCare Center and is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician for our Radiation Oncology Services !
Radiation Oncology:
Our multidisciplinary oncology team designs an individualized treatment plan for each pet patient using the most advanced and effective treatments available—much like those used in human medicine. Even better, today's cancer treatments are often much quicker with far fewer side effects, so pets remain comfortable and happy throughout treatment. Our Radiation Oncology Veterinary Technicians are exposed to diverse and stimulating caseloads. Skills that our Technicians utilize, but are not limited to: Physical examinations and patient assessment Venipuncture/IVC placement Safely and accurately administer fluids, medications, anesthesia, and radiation treatments. Run diagnostics correlate results with the clinical presentation of the patient and notify the Veterinarian of the results. Administer radiation treatments under the direct supervision of the Radiation Oncologist and Radiation Therapist. Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia to ensure patient safety. Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive optimal care. Maintain open communication with the healthcare team. Provide clear and concise discharge instructions to clients, ensuring they understand the care their furry family member requires after leaving the hospital. Maintain accurate records , including patient history, treatment details, and client communication. Assist with the completion of cost estimates.
Qualifications:
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Passion for client education and communication. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Comfortable with anesthesia and patient recovery
Schedule:
Full-time opportunity, 4 x 10 hour shifts.
Compensation:
Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
